LPG Training and Drill

Intergaz Ltd’in 2011 yılında başlattığı teknik emniyet ve yangın güvenliği eğitimlerine bir yenisi daha eklendi. Değirmenlik Lisesi’nde eğitim ve tatbikat düzenledi.

The event held at Değirmenlik High School began with a speech by Intergaz Ltd. Deputy General Manager Kader Kencer. Kencer noted that Intergaz Ltd. has carried out many activities within the scope of social responsibility to date and will continue to do so in the future. Kencer expressed that as a company, they are pleased to provide training to various institutions and organizations. He emphasized the importance of these trainings, stating that they have previously trained many primary, middle, high school, and university students, as well as personnel from other institutions.

Kencer said, “As Intergaz Ltd., we are very pleased to be here with the students and teachers of Değirmenlik High School. Drills, which are organized with great meticulousness and an expert team where all necessary precautions are taken, are of vital importance. We will continue to provide theoretical and practical information on LPG fire and fire training.”

“Theoretical information and training were provided.”

In the first part of the LPG Information and Fire Extinguishing Training, Intergaz Technical Manager and Mechanical Engineer Cem Saldoğan provided technical information about the characteristic features of LPG. Following the technical presentation, Intergaz fire consultant Resul Dilek from Turkey gave training on fire response methods as well as which type of fire extinguisher should be used for which type of fire. Dilek also gave advice to students and teachers, drawing attention to the importance of conducting drills as much as theoretical training. Dilek stated that students preparing themselves in the best way for emergencies they may encounter throughout their lives will save lives in the future, and said, “From building evacuation to the use of fire extinguishing devices, training must be supported by regular drills.”

“A fire extinguishing drill was conducted.”

A drill on responding to LPG fires was conducted in the garden of Değirmenlik High School.

Intergaz personnel, who took extensive security measures in the school garden, first gave practical training on what to do in case of a fire. Afterwards, they reinforced this knowledge with a drill. In the drill, selected teachers and students extinguished burning LPG cylinders, learning and applying step-by-step what they should do in the event of a fire. During the drill for responding to burning LPG cylinders, a practical exercise was also held on how to tackle fires with a towel or blanket in homes that do not have a fire extinguisher.

After the drill, fire extinguishers were gifted to the school administration and participants. Students took souvenir photos with Intergaz personnel and their mascots. The students, who showed great interest in the mascot of the pink cylinders specially released for the October 1-31, 2019 Breast Cancer Awareness Month, both had fun and gained awareness.
