“Life-Saving Training” from İntergaz for Physician Candidates
While İntergaz personnel have the opportunity to keep up with developing technology and new equipment on the market through "Occupational Health and Safety" training, they also provide training to institutions and organizations in our country as part of their social responsibility.
NEU Faculty of Medicine students receive training
On 01.04.19, İntergaz Technical Manager and Mechanical Engineer Cem Saldoğan provided a two-part training on fire and LPG fire response to students from the NEU Faculty of Medicine at the İntergaz facilities. The first part of the training included a theoretical presentation on fire and fire response methods, while the second part consisted of a drill on fire response techniques. In the theoretical training, Cem Saldoğan gave detailed instruction, covering topics from the classification of fires and response methods to which type of fire extinguisher should be used for specific types of fires. After the theoretical session, Saldoğan emphasized the importance of drills, stating, "Drills are crucial for being able to respond to fires in emergencies. Knowing what to do in the event of a fire is of great importance; knowing how to respond based on the type of fire saves lives. Training, from building evacuation to the use of fire extinguishers, must be supported by regular drills."
Following the theoretical training, the İntergaz Ltd. team conducted a firefighting drill with the NEU Faculty of Medicine students. During the drill, the participating students extinguished burning cylinders and an LPG tank one by one, gaining experience while also learning the step-by-step procedure to follow in the event of a fire.
During the drill that followed the training organized as part of İntergaz Ltd.'s social responsibility projects, the students had an enjoyable time extinguishing the burning LPG cylinders and tank, despite the rain.
Trainings organized by İntergaz will continue
Saldoğan emphasized that the trainings conducted by Intergaz Ltd. are about the necessary interventions in a potential fire, stressing that knowing the type of fire and the appropriate firefighting method is of vital importance. Saldoğan noted the critical importance of knowing firefighting methods, especially in crowded buildings such as hospitals and schools, and highlighted the importance of expanding the training they conducted with the NEU Faculty of Medicine students throughout the TRNC.
