Trainee Firefighters and Labor Inspectors Received Training
A new addition has been made to the technical safety and fire security trainings that Intergaz Ltd. started in 2011.
Intergaz hosted the 14th Term Basic Firefighter Training Students and the Ministry of Labor and Social Security Labor Inspectors.
The program, which began in the morning at the Chamber of Industry with the welcoming of future firefighters and ministry inspectors, continued with technical training, hands-on training at the Intergaz Ltd. facility, and concluded with the presentation of participation certificates back at the Chamber of Industry.
“Theoretical knowledge and training were provided. A firefighting drill was conducted.”
Following the technical training at the Chamber of Industry, the participants, along with the instructors, conducted a drill on fire response at the Intergaz drill area.
Before the firefighting training at the Intergaz facilities, the participants toured the facility. They were informed about the safety measures taken on site. After the tour, the participants, who received theoretical knowledge on what to do during a fire, reinforced their knowledge with a drill. In the drill, participants extinguished burning LPG cylinders one by one, learning step-by-step what to do in case of a fire. Following the drill on responding to burning LPG cylinders, another drill was conducted on how to respond to kitchen fires.
Using setups specially prepared for the drill at the Intergaz facilities, a drill was conducted on methods for responding to an LPG pipeline leak and an LPG tank fire, as well as how to handle electrical and fuel fires.
The participants who completed their theoretical and practical training were later awarded participation certificates at the Chamber of Industry by Fire Chief Ahmet Özmenek, Intergaz Ltd. Deputy General Manager Kader Kencer, and the instructors.
Kencer: “We are pleased.”
Intergaz Ltd. Deputy General Manager Kader Kencer noted that Intergaz Ltd. has carried out many activities to date as part of its social responsibility and will continue to do so. Kencer expressed their pleasure as a company in providing training to various institutions and organizations. He emphasized that although they have previously trained many university students and personnel from other institutions, the training provided to the new term of firefighter students holds a distinct and special place. He stressed that the trainings will continue and highlighted their importance.
Kencer said, “As Intergaz Ltd., we were very pleased to host the 14th Term Basic Firefighter Training Students and Labor Inspectors for training and drills. Our doors are open to any institution that wishes to tour Intergaz Ltd. and inspect the facility on site.” Kader Kencer stated that they will continue to provide theoretical and practical information on LPG fires and fire training, with the necessary preparations made professionally in advance.
